JR Tarui Station is located in Tarui Town, Fuwa District, Gifu Prefecture, and is a stop along the Tōkaidō Main Line. Opened in 1884, it occupies a key position between Nagoya and Maibara, serving as a vital transit point for daily commuters, students, and freight movement. With two platforms and three tracks, the station continues to play an essential role in regional connectivity.
The area surrounding Tarui Station is rich in history, having developed as a former post town along the Nakasendō route. It is home to a number of cultural properties, shrines, temples, and traditional landscapes that preserve the atmosphere of bygone eras. At the same time, public institutions, parks, and natural features are interwoven throughout the town, creating a calm, well-balanced living environment.
