JR Kagamigahara Station is located in Unuma-Kagamigahara Town, Kagamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture. It operates on the JR Takayama Main Line and has served the region since its opening in 1921. Though the station is unstaffed, it plays a modest yet important role in the daily lives of commuters and students. Its close proximity to Meiden-Kagamigahara Station on the Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line makes it a convenient point for rail transfers.
The area surrounding the station is a quiet residential district, with a limited number of large-scale facilities.
