Since its opening in 1937, the station has served as a central transportation hub for the city. Today, it stands as an integral part of the city’s urban core, surrounded by a wide array of public institutions and cultural facilities. The station also offers convenient access to the adjacent Shin-Toyota Station on the Aichi Loop Railway, allowing for smooth inter-line transfers.
